romseygalaxy Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 Hello, returning to the forum after 12 month abscence ( and forgotton password etc). Still got the same galaxy though! I need to replace my rear shocks. All easy except getting the * Quote
NikpV Posted September 25, 2006 Report Posted September 25, 2006 sorry - only thing I remember about the rear shocks is to torque them up with the wheels on the ground :D Quote
marty16610 Posted September 26, 2006 Report Posted September 26, 2006 Hi m8. Have another look at yours, i have holes in the chassis on the other side to the bolt heads (one hidden by exhaust heat shield). It looks as though you can squirt wd40 in through there. Hope this helps. Quote
romseygalaxy Posted September 27, 2006 Author Report Posted September 27, 2006 try this rearsprings.pdf Hi, looked at the attachment, I assume that is the VW guide. i have the Ford TIS, which is much more basic! The ford TIS just says raise veh, undo, and replace. ( torquing on the ground) I have removed the spare wheel and sprayed into the small holes and will now have to wait until the weekend. Kev Quote

romseygalaxy Posted October 3, 2006 Author Report Posted October 3, 2006 Changed the rear shocks, really easy. To save worrying about the bolt, i used a torque wrench to undo them, setting at at the specified setting, that way I knew the bolt could take that amount of strain and if they wouldn't undo, they would be siezed, but came undone no problem.
